PRIVATE LE GIETTAZ TRANSFERS FROM GENEVA AIRPORT

La Giettaz is one of those resorts that rewards those who make the effort to get there, and a private transfer from Geneva Airport is the best way to do it. The drive takes around 1 hour 15 minutes, taking you up through the Val d’Arly and into the heart of the Aravis mountains, dropping you directly at your accommodation with no shared shuttles and no stops along the way. Your driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall at Geneva Airport, ready to go the moment you collect your bags.

We know the Aravis well and the road into La Giettaz is one of the most scenic approaches we do, with the Col des Aravis and the Mont Blanc massif opening up as you climb. Along the way we are happy to share local knowledge on snow conditions, the best runs for your level across the Portes du Mont Blanc, and where to eat and drink in and around the village. It is the kind of inside information that makes a real difference to a first visit.

La Giettaz is a small, authentic village and getting there with all your ski kit, luggage, and family in tow is exactly where a private transfer earns its keep. We handle everything from flight tracking to luggage, so by the time you arrive at your chalet or apartment you are ready to focus entirely on the mountains ahead.

LA GIETTAZ RESORT GUIDE

La Giettaz is one of the best kept secrets in the French Alps. Tucked away in the Val d’Arly below the Col des Aravis, on the border between Savoie and Haute-Savoie, it is a genuinely unspoiled mountain village that has managed to retain its authentic character while quietly gaining access to one of the most compelling ski areas in the region. Around 1 hour 15 minutes from Geneva Airport, it sits within the Portes du Mont Blanc ski area alongside Combloux, Cordon, and the Jaillet sector of Megève, with 100km of pistes on the local pass and the option to upgrade to the full Evasion Mont Blanc domain covering 445km across six resorts including Megève, Saint-Gervais, and Les Contamines. The views from the summit of the Tête du Torraz, looking across to the Mont Blanc massif, the Aravis range, and the Beaufortain, are among the finest in the Alps.

The skiing above La Giettaz is characterised by long, tree-lined runs, excellent off-piste terrain, and a notable absence of the crowds that fill the more famous resorts nearby. The local area is particularly well suited to intermediates and families, with gentle blues and greens winding through pine forests and a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere on the lifts. The connection through to Combloux and Le Jaillet above Megève opens up a much wider variety of terrain, and on a powder day the wooded slopes above La Giettaz hold their snow exceptionally well. The resort has built a strong reputation among freeride skiers for its off-piste options, and the 6km blue run through the forest is one of the most enjoyable cruises in the area. With an upgrade to the Evasion Mont Blanc pass, the full Megève ski area including the Mont d’Arbois and Mont Joly sectors comes within reach, making the skiing options virtually limitless for a week’s stay.

Away from the slopes, La Giettaz is the kind of village that reminds you what the Alps used to feel like before mass tourism arrived. The chalets are traditional Savoyard, the pace of life is unhurried, and the mountain atmosphere is genuine rather than manufactured. The village has a small selection of restaurants and bars with the emphasis firmly on good food and local produce rather than apres-ski excess, and the surrounding landscape is spectacular in every direction. Families will find it a particularly rewarding base, with shorter lift queues, manageable terrain on the doorstep, and a safe, relaxed environment that is increasingly hard to find in the Alps. Whether you are drawn to La Giettaz for the freeride terrain, the tree skiing, or simply the appeal of somewhere that has not yet been discovered by the crowds, it is a resort that leaves a lasting impression.
